What is your ideal job? Collect answers around the class. Explain that this unit will give students practice in talking about common jobs. Ask students to look at the pictures, and encourage them to describe the contents of the pictures in English with as many details as possible. Ask students to match the pictures to the words in the boxes, and read aloud the sentences under the pictures. Open up a class discussion, ask students to brainstorm, and name as many jobs as possible. You can start a competition. For example, divide students into two groups and ask them to name as many job titles as they can. The group coming up with more job titles wins. Have students listen and repeat the words, teaching the definition for each one. You can check their pronunciation and comprehension by asking questions, such as: Who would you turn to if you had toothache? (dentist) What do we call the money we receive as payment for the organization we work for? (salary) What is the word for a holiday, or a time spent not working? (vacation) You can warm the class up by asking students: What does your mother do? (Students should answer with a complete sentence started with My mother is a(n).” Have you ever worked? Where do you work? Have students finish Exercise B, go through the answers, calling on different students each time. Correct any errors. Ask students to read through Language Note, which teaches the meaning of benefits, and the difference bet
