一、 Teaching aims
1.Perception objective
The Ss can understand and read the words and sentences: long, short, tall, big, small, The ruler is long. The pencil is short. The tree is tall. The grass is short. The cars are big. The bikes are small.
2.Ability objective
The Ss can master these sentence-structure fluently and use them correctly in daily life.
3.Emotion objective
Tell the Ss that be observant, keep our eyes open, and speak more with English in daily life.
二、 The key and difficult points
1. Key point: Enable the Ss to understand and read the main words , and sentences.
2. Difficult point: Enable the Ss to describe something with these words and sentences.
三、 Teaching tools: PPT and blackboard
四、 Teaching and studying methods
1. Teaching methods: TPR and Situational
2. Studying methods: Let the Ss study in a relaxed and agreeable
atmosphere. The Ss understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, saying, observing etc.
五、 Teaching process
Step 1. Warming up
1. Free talk: Greet the Ss.
2. Sing a song:PPAP.
Step 2. Presentation
1. Lead in Lead in by sing the song.
2. New concepts Learn to talk about some things with the main words and sentences: long, short, tall, big, small, The ruler is long. The pencil is short. The tree is tall. The grass is short. The cars are big. The bikes are small.
3. The text combination
(1) Play the video about the text.
(2) Remember the text by singing a song:
The ruler is long. The pencil is short.
The tree is tall. The grass is short.
The cars are big. The bikes are small.
Long, short, tall, short, big and small.
Step 3. Practice
1. Try to ask the students to describe the elephant with the main sentences. For example: Look at the elephant. The nose is … The tail(尾巴)is ..., The ears are ..., The eyes are …,It likes ...
2. Describe your friends.
3. Listen and write their names.
