The following dialogue is between Lily and Mr. Brown (the tour manager). Lily: Excuse me. Are you Mr. Brown from Canada? Mr. Brown: Yes, I am. Are you our local guide here? Lily: Yes. My name is Lily. Welcome to Beijing. Mr. Brown: Thank you. Lily: How was your trip? Mr. Brown: Pretty good. People were chatting all the way. They are getting off the plane now. Lily: No hurry. But can I check the luggage first? Mr. Brown: Of course. Here you are. There are 18 pieces altogether. Lily: Good. Is everybody here now? Mr. Brown: Let me check. Yes, everyone is here. Lily: Before we move, could you tell the guests to follow my flag since it’s so crowded here? Mr. Brown: Sure. You go ahead and we will follow you. 2. Lily (the local guide) is waiting for the group led by Mr. Smith (the national guide) at Beijing Capital Airport. She has a flag in her hand. The plane has arrived and the passengers are just coming out. Mr. Smith sees Lily and comes over to her. Lily: Excuse me, sir. But are you Mr. William Smith? Mr. Smith: Yes, I am. Lily: How do you do, Mr. William Smith? Mr. Smith: How do you do? I guess you must be Lily, our local guide. Lily: Yes, Mr. Smith. Welcome to Beijing.
