BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PURPOSE To provide the basis for the repetition of the experiments by others To establish the credibility of the results and conclusions of your present study CAREFUL WRITING FOR PEER REVIEW A good reviewer, unlike many readers of your paper, will not skip the section but read it carefully for the sake of adjudging your results credible and reproducible. Serious doubt will lead to the recommendation of rejecting the manuscript (文稿) no matter how awe-inspiring (使人畏惧的) your results sound. GUIDELINES IN GENERAL Write most of the section in the past tense. Organize it in chronological order. Be precise and concise. SUBHEADINGS Construct subheadings that correspond to those to be used in the Results section. Read your target journal to familiarize yourself with frequently used subheadings. EXAMPLES OF SUBHEADINGS Enrolment Study Design Statistical Analysis Quality Control Laboratory Analysis Study Cohorts (a group of individuals with a statistical factor in common in a demographic人口统计学的 study) Collection and Analysis of Tissues NEED FOR REFERENCES Provide a literature reference for the method that has been previously published either by you or by others in a standard journal.
