Abstract: In recent years earthquake disasters had brought enormous damage to the transportation network system, which functionalities are required. The regional distance-based accessibility is leaded into assessing the earthquake region transportation system. It will explore a new assessment
method suitable to the earthquake region transportation system in our county. The new assessment
method is applied to Wenchuan earthquake region transportation system as a case study. The case analyses the space difference of Wenchuan earthquake region system by the regional distance-based accessibility.It also analyzes the difference of regional distance-based accessibility. Its conclusions are consistency with the actual situation and verify the new assessment method valid.

In terms of the researches on earthquake resistance in transportation systems, there have been a lot of works done. For instance, Stuard D.Werner (1995) and others, under the premises of the assumed earthquake epic center an magnitude, an earthquake to a road system made by ,using the increased time when passing a road as the degree of the damages to the road system. Nojima (1997) used the road capacity as an index of the post-quake functionality test for highway system. Wan Haichao (1997) and other applied BP algorithm for neutral network to do researches on prediction of earthquake damages to urban roads. Shinozuka (1998) an others created an economic loss model associate with transportation flow, transportation cost and production losses.
