The effects of concentration and ratio of reactants, reaction temperature, calcining temperature and calcining time on the activity of MgO nanoparticles were analyzed, and the opt imal react ion condit ions for preparing nanosize MgO were determined as follows: reaction temperature 40 , time of the ultrasonic vibration 50 min, concentrat ion of the reactant 1. 5 molL, rat io of the reactants 13, calcining temperature 550 and calcining time 2 . 5 h. The antistat ic properties of cotton and polyester fabrics finished with nanometer MgO as an ant istatic finishing agent were tested .
