The Viaduct Construction Program of Contract 1280 Construction and Completion of BOONLAY MRT Extension Construction of Pile Foundation The contract contains 915 piles (including testing piles). To ensure the quality and progress of the project and according to the site hydro-geological condition and construction experience, as for those pile foundations with diameter of 1.0m, 1.2m or 1.3m, rotating excavating drilling machines are adopted to drill and metal casing to protect the wall. Therefore, one rotating excavating drilling machine of BG22, two of ZY-20 and one of RD180 will be applied together; and as for the minipile with a diameter of 0.3m, hydraulic pile driver NH70 will be employed. When the depth of the hole reaches 3m to the designated level, concreting should be made ready. Clear the residue at the bottom when drilling to the designated level and inform the supervisor immediately for check. Upon approval, lay in the pipe or the sleeve to concrete into piles. The steel bar cage is manufactured in the manufacturing yard section by section, and the required audial test pipe which is pre-embedded and grouting pipe should fix with the steel bar cage, and then the steel bar cage is placed into the hole by cranes. The concrete is purchased from the nearest commodity concrete stirring yard, transported by the stirring lorry and pumped into the formwork by the pump truck. The viaduct crosses with existing roads in much of the places in this project. Meanwhile, the roads below the viaduct need reconstruction. Therefore, the safety warning sign and the border piles are required on the site to guarantee the safety of the traffic and the construction, and someone should be assigned to guarantee the safety. 2. Pile Cap Construction When the pile foundation’s concrete strength reaches the requirement, the foundation excavation of pile cap should be commenced.
