This belief in the march of progress and the pursuit of perfection leads to Americans’ positive attitude toward change, and results in a nation of people committed to researching, experimenting and exploring. Part II Structural Analysis Part One (Paras 1-3) At the very beginning, the essay points out where the author’s interest lies—write and live on a farm, and then he evaluates the life there as self-reliant and satisfying.
