M ethods U ltrasonic technique w as adop ted to prepare solid lipid nanoparticles in an aqueous system using al-l trans retinoic acid (ATRA ) as a model drug. Phy sicochem ical proterties of SLN were investigated in detai.l D rug release from tw o sorts of ATRA-SLN w as investigated using a dialy sis bagmethod. Comparedw ith ATRA solution, the in vivo pharmacokinetics of wt o sorts of ATRA-SLN after intravenous injection to rats were stud ied. Results Solid lipid nanoparticles loaded w ith al-l trans retinoic acidw as read ily and quickly prepared by ultrasonic techn ique. The morphological investigation by Transm ission E lectronM icroscopy (TEM )showed that the particles had round and uniform shapes. Themean diameters of them were (158 ±9)nm and (89 ±11)nm separately. The SLN dispersion w as stable at 4 ℃for more than one year. D rug loading w as
