De t. of E lectrical Engineering, Shanghai Shanghai Dianji University, Shanghai 200240, China) A bstrac t: The research on a lication of the active ow er filter (APF) form edian and h igh voltage ow er system s is summ arized, and various to ological structures suitable for med ian and high voltage ow er system s are resented, such as the hybrid APF, the m ulti le configuration, and the mu lt-i level concatenation. The m erits and dem erits of these solutions are analyzed, and the frequently used controllingm ethods aswell as their a lications and features are illum inated. The further develo m ent direction of the APF is discussed.
