Department fo Power and Engineering , Dalian University of Technology , Dalian 116024, China) (2.A utomobile Engineering Department, Shandong Jiaotong University , Jinan 250023, China) , , , , U464. 13 TB324 Abstract The finite element model for engine suspending bearings as established, considering the contact condition bet een the rubber and steel, contact pairs that satisfy manufacture requirements(there must be rubber adheres to the steel) ere established. The loads that the bearings endured during operation ere analyzed. Since the deformation of rubber material is incompressible and nonuni form, the material property of rubber as assumedto be hyperelastic, isotropic and isothermal. The original fatigue position of the struc ture as determined from the contours of stress intensity calculatedby finite element program, hich accords ith the actual initialfatigue crack position. The ultimate fracture surface as also proposed. The calculated alternating stress intensity of the structure confirmed the fatigue failure position ulteriorly. The regular distribution of stress intensity provides a basis for simplifying this three dimensional struc ture into t o dimensional structure to perform fracture calculation, so that the calculation scale can be reduced significantly.
