Abstract: field expermi entwas conducted in the Guanzhong region ofShaanxiProvince to study the effectsof di-f
ferent cultivation patterns and N fertilization on the accumulation, partition and use efficiency of N in m aize and
w interwheat rotation. The results showed that the furrow planting pattern significantly increased theN accumulation
in maize during itsmature stage, whereas other cultivation patterns had no significant effects on theN accumulation
in themaize and wheat. D ifferent cultivation patterns had significant effect on the N accumulation in leaves of
wheat, whilehad no effects on other organsofm aize andwheat. The contribution ofN from differentorgans to grain
increased in the order: furrow planting conventional straw mulching water-controlled. pplying N fertilizer
( including N 120 kg/ha andN 240 kg/ha) increased the N accumulation in the crop in comparison w ith the con-
tro.l TheN accumulation in treatment ofN 240 kg/hawas significantly higher than that ofN 120 kg/ha treatmen
