VALUES OF LIFE INTRODUCTION When we speak about values in Life. In Present , the question arises are the values really present. In Past --- we identify and relate people who had certain morals. For ex: Mahatma Ganbhi : truth Non-Violence Mother Teresa : Love Compassion. (all caste, creed religion ) In our home , our Grandfather --- Strict Disciplinary and our Grandmother --- selfless love and affection to all children in neighborhood In present Society we cannot find values or standards to which we adhere. The reason for such degeneration or lacking is: 2 THINGS 1. Nuclear famalies 2. Lopsided Education System. In the past we have Joint family System where parents, Grandparents, Uncles live together under one roof, Everybody work for family, earned money was everyones property, Waking up early, Obeying elders, Being Punctual, Sharing Now-a-days, Nuclear Family System where both the parents are working, single child Policy, parents tend to compensate there lack of attention by giving – large amt of money, lack of Guidance. This Often takes kids to wrong path Education System???? ??? Can the School or College education be acceptable holistic ? Does it makes our Children responsible Citizen? Does it helps them to be humane and treat everybody with love and compassion? * What is the present education system focusing on? * What is our present education system lacking ? Contrasting the ……. PRESENT with PAST EDUCATION SYSTEM Ancient India Education System Ancient India was the seat of higher Education. It brought students from far-off places across the sea. The “GURUKUL SYSTEM” ---- They inculcate deep respect for there teachers who were “thrikalgnanis”. The students was first made to undergo many rigorous tests through which teacher tested the students dedication to be educated. Students also stayed with the teacher during the period of education.
