Teaching aids: A tape recorder Teaching methods: Reading, talking Teaching procedures: Step 1 Revision and checking 1)Have a free talk with the students about their problems. e.g. Do you have a problem? What’s your problem? What’s your biggest problem? How can you deal with it? 2) Ask the students the following questions about Reading Who are the letters from? Why do they write the letters? Step2.Leading-in If you have problems,what will you do to solve it? Will you go to your parents, friends or teachers? Maybe a youth worker is a good choice. Millie and Simon wrote to Sigmund Friend, a youth worker. Step3.Listening practice 1. Play the tape for the students and find out the answer: What’s Millie’s problem? (She has a lot of homework everyday.) 2. Listen again and check the answer with the whole class. Step4.Reading practice 1.
