At present, the minimum ignition energy is measured according to the standards of the VDI 2263 IEC 31and GB/T16428-1996. Equipments and methods of voltage and current measurement of discharge spark system in the MIE measuring system are generalized. It is recommended that commercial high voltage probe is used to measure discharge voltage waveform and diverter is used to measure discharge current waveform. Discharge waveforms are record by a Tektronix TDS1012B digital storage oscilloscope. Circuit of capacitor discharge sparks with decaying natural type was used in the ignition equipment. A high voltage power supply is used to charge the capacitance. A triggering pulse is applied at the controlling gird of the thyratron to trig the thyratron, and let electrostatic discharge between two electrodes, and it ignite the dust cloud. Discharge waveforms are record by Tektronix TDS1012B digital storage oscilloscope. Basing on the voltage and current of discharge electrode which are acquired by the high speed data acquisition, integrate calculation of energy method is used to integral power and time of the spark discharge, which the MIE of dust cloud is calculated. Testing process control data acquisition and MIE calculate are processed in one compu
