Method The animal model of type diabetes was established by injecting streptozotocin combined with feeding high-lipid ration to SD rats. According to serum insulin , the insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and the area under the curve of glucose tolerance, the model rats were divided into four groups, including model group, LBP low , medium and high dose groups [20, 40, 80 mg/(kg bw ·d)]. At the same time, normal control group and normal LBP high dose group were alloted. The levels of advanced glycosylation endproducts-peptide (AGEs-P) in serum, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) in plasma, and interleukin-8 (IL-8) in renal cortex were detected after given LBP for 1 month.
