Abstract
Theequivalencebetweenmultilayeredbarriersregardingdiflusionandadsorptionwasstudied.Thebottom boundaryoftheliner
system isdefinedbyassumingconcentrationcontinuousandfluxcontinuousconditionsofthecontaminna tbetweenthebottom liner
layernadtheunderlyingsoil.Fivedifferentlinersystemswerecompraedintermsofsolutebreakthroughtime.Theresultsofthe
naalysisshowedthatbreakthroughtimeofthehydrophobicorgnaiccompoundsfora2.meter-thickcompactedclayliner(CCL)could
be3-4ordersofmagnitudeisgreaterthnathebrekathroughtimeofrageosyntheticclayliner(GCL)compositeliner.Tl1eGM/GCLand
GM/CCLcompositelinersystemsprovideabetterdiflusionbarrierofrthehydrophilicorgnaiccompoundsthnahtatofrthehydrophobic
compoundsduetotheirdifferentHenry’stoemcient.Thecalculatedbreakthrough
