LUA design principles 00:17 Now, the best solution for any application problem running as a standard user is almost always to fix the application. So, even though this training is not designed targeting the developer, we wanted to give a few tips so that they can be passed on to the development team to fix those applications should they choose to use that preferred solution. The design principles are fairly straightforward, but we’ll just review them. We want to make sure that we don’t take any unnecessary privileges. This happens quite a lot, accidentally. Right, so a developer happens to be running as Admin; he happens to try to write something somewhere, for example, and he succeeds because he is running as an Administrator. So, he didn’t really need that. He could have written it somewhere else. It just happened to work on his machine, and the bug didn’t get caught very early. It is easier to catch it right away when it doesn’t run when you first test your software. So, we want to make sure we are doing that, which is why we normally advise that developers, even if they have Administrator credentials on their computer, always run with UAC enable
