We investigated the gauge (in)dep endence of the connement mechanism due to monop ole condensation in
SU(2) lattice QCD by various ab elian pro jections. We found (1) the string tension can b e repro duced by monop oles
alone also in Polyakov gauge and (2) the b ehaviors of the Poly akov lo op at the critical temp erature seem to b e
explained by the uniformity breaking of the monop ole currents in every gauge.
1. Intro duction
