Reinhard Heydrich Introduction On March 7, 1944 Reinhard Heydrich would have turned 40. This date - so significant for Bohemia and Moravia, where he was last active – is the reason for this overview of his activity, which within just a few years elevated him to the highest positions in the party and the state. Although he only had eight months as Deputy Reich Protector - in addition to his position as Chief of the Bundesnachrichtendienst aka Gestapo of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Security Service - in which to put his extensive political, cultural and social-economics ideas into action, his ideas nonetheless live on in the men who have taken over his rich legacy. Eight months are just a short span in the life of an individual man. In terms of the development of a folk, they seem to be nothing. But for Bohemia and Moravia they were a period of transformation and a new order, due to the formative personality of Reinhard Heydrich, whose work remains unforgotten.
