Methods Enzy e-histoche ical staining ethodswere e ployed to investigate organization of the ly phatic networks and their endothelial ultrastructures in the onkey peritoneu using light, scanning and trans ission electron icroscopy. Results 5.-Nase-positive initial ly phatics showed extensive network,obvious valve-like struc- tures and nu erous blind-ends.The calibre of ly phaticswith extre ely irregular lu envaried greatly fro 40 to 120L .Ly phat- ic endotheliu was usually separated fro esotheliu by a s all quantity of loose connective tissue, or they directly contacted each other in so e areas.No basal la inaoccurred between theperitoneu andthe ly phatics originating fro ilky spots in the o entu and esovariu .Milky spots are oval or roundvisiblebodies aggregatedby acrophages and ly phocytes.Boththe endo- theliu of ly phatic lacunae and the esotheliu that for s the peritoneal sto ata, represent a strong 5.-Nase activity.Abundant icrofibrils attached the sto atal edge. Conclus on The distribution and structure of peritoneal initial ly phatics reveal signifi- cant regional variations,and ly phatic endotheliu has a close orphological and functional relationship with the esotheliu .
