Lincoln’s campaign experience 11 times to run for Congress The age of 23, he lost his jobs. During this time,he threw himself to running for Congress, but he failed. That was in 1832. In 1838, he ran for governor, not elected. In 1843, he run for Congress, also failed. Three years later, he was running for Congress, and finally succeeded in time, became a U.S. Congressman. Two years later, his re-election is failed. Apply to the state government and hope to do an ordinary state land administrator, but was coldly rejected. In 1854, his re-election, failed. 1856, he want to become vice president and received a nomination, but still be beaten by the opponent . In 1858, he was again run for Congress, the outcome is failure. In his life, he insisted 11 times to run for Congress, 9 times are failed , but he did not despair. intense political debate 1861, he is 52 years old, he did not give up their dreams, after speeches and campaigns everywhere, he finally struggled to stand out, became the 16th Republican presidential candidate in U.S. .At that time, he still had a competitor called Stephen Douglas.
