Ice hockey and lacrosse are Canada’s national sports. Administrative divisions: 10 provinces and 3 territories Climate: Since Canada is a huge country, its climate varies greatly from region to region. The arctic region is the coldest area. The summer is very short while the winter can be as long as 8 to 10 months. The mean annual temperature is -5.6 degrees Centigrade. Canada’s most populous regions, which lie in the country’s south along the US border, enjoy four distinct seasons. The winter is mild and the summer is warm and sunny.
