It aims to familiarize them with the basic knowledge of language, and provide them with the main theories of linguistics and introduce them the nature of language. It deals with the sounds that we make when we speak, with the ways in which words are formed, with the way in which we construct sentences, and so on. Therefore, it may better explain the language phenomena and solve some language problems when students encounter in their language study.
