ABSTRACT
OnehundredandtensamplesofrainwaterwerecollectedforchemicalanalysisatthesummitofHuangshanMountain,a
high-altitudesiteinEastChina.fromJuly2010toJune20l1.Thevolume—weighted-mean(VWM)pHofrthewholesampling
periodwas5.03.S0 —na dCa2十werethemostabundantanionandcation respectively.Theionicconcentrationsvaried
monthlywiththehighestconcentrationsinwinter/springandthelowestinsummer.Evidentinter—correlationswerefound
amongmostions,indicatingthecommonsourcesofrsomespeciesandfullymixingchraacteristicsofthealpineprecipitation
chemistry.TheVWMratioofs【0i_J/N【O ]was2.54,suggestingtheacidityofrainwatercomesrfombothnitricand
sulfuricacids.Comparedwithcontemporrayobservationsatotheralpinecontinenta1sitesinChina.theprecipitationat
HuangshanMountalnwastheleastpolluted.withthelowestionicconcentrations.TrajectoriestoHuangshanMountainon
rainydayscouldbeclassifiedintosixgroups.TherainwaterwithinfluencingairmassesoriginatinginMongoliawasthe
