Abstract
Thethesisfirsthasathroughanalysisfromtwoaspects:thedefinitionand
manifestationofthepublicspiritinourhighereducation,andnewthoughtsaboutit
inmarketeconomy.Itisbelieved,thepublicspiritofhighereducationmeansits
conformingwithsocialpublicinterest,bearingpublicintelligenceservingfor
peopleandisthebasicqualityofthedoublequalitiesineducation.Itsformsof
expressioninclude:(1)thepublicqualityineducationproduct;(2)thepublic
qualityineducationinvestmentpart;(3)theimpartialqualityineducation;(4)the
unprofitablequalityineducation;(5)theprivatequalityandpublicqualityin
educationbenefits.Now,marketeconomyattachesnewthoughtstothepublicspirit:
(1)itdoesnotdependontheformsofschoolrunning;(2)itdoesnotrejectthe
efficiencyorientation;(3)itdoesnotrepelmodernmarketeconomy;(4)itisnot
reflectedbythemanagementpatternsinuniversities.Aftertheanalysisandthe
research,wewillknowclearlythatthedevelopmentformsofhighereducation
couldbevariousanditwouldnotchangethepublicspiritofhighereducation.
Thenwewillseeacomprehensiveresearchrfomtheaspectsofthedefinition
ofindustrialspiritinhighereducation,itsmanifestations,anditsspecific
characteristicsinmarketeconomy.Highereducationisconsideredasthebodyof
knowledgerenovation,an industry which spreadsknowledge,cultivates
intelligenceandtrainscapabilitiestoincreasestudentsknowledgeandintelligence,
a orocessitgfactory transformingknowledgeintomaterialandspiritual
productivity.Itmanifestationscontain:(1)itisanindustryproducingknowledge;
(2)itisanindustryproducinghighertechnology;(3)itisanindustryproducing
manpowercapital;(4)itcancontributetothegrowthofGDPdirectlyandindirectly
Third,theresearchoftherelationbetweenthepublicspiritandtheindustrialspirit
inourhighereducation,makesusawarethatthesetwospiritsareconflictingwith
eachotherwhileharmoniouslycoexist.
