ERP applications are crucial in enhancing an enterprise’s management and increasing its profitability. One of the most remarkable characteristics of production management in shipyards is that the management of key aspects such as production, design as well as the procurement, production, transportation and installment of ship fittings is oriented to the pallet control. Therefore, it’s immensely meaningful to carry out intensive study on the modes and models of pallet control and to design and work out an information management system that meets the requirements of such models in order to improve pallet collection and distribution management and productivity and reduce costs of shipbuilding industry. Pallet control attaches importance to the collection distribution management of ship fittings which covers such aspects as preparation of pallet collection distribution planning, management of collection distribution centers and on-site management. There are a number of challenges in the collection distribution management such as optimized pallet collection distribution planning, optimized requirement identification for collected and distributed materials, conflict resolution in multi-pallet collected and distributed materials, cross-function cross-system coordination of pallet collection distribution schemes, and optimized pallet scheduling.
