But nothing cures the blues like exciting new music, so I’ve been throwing myself into three of the best new bands with debut albums due in 2016. Lost in the sad fog of Bowie- mourning last week was another Savages p24 reason to be happy – the return of Alex Turner’s excellent side-project (and this week’s cover stars), The Last Shadow Puppets. Turner and his bandmate Miles Kane are big Bowie acolytes, covering his 1967 track ‘In The Heat Of The Morning’ as the b-side to their debut single back in 2008, which Bowie himself called “a delight”.
