In the human survival and development， energy is one of the important elements in the maintenance of social order， and it is the main guarantee for human sustainable development factors. At present， the energy problem has become a major bottleneck in the development of the global economy. So in order to safeguard the energy security of supply and sustainable development， an important topic of strategic key projects in China were included in the study of new energy development and. This paper provides a brief overview of the definition， the development of new energy vehicles and the research significance， mainly introduce the current development status of new energy vehicles， a detailed analysis of the application of new energy vehicles， in combination with concrete policies， problems and solutions analysis of trends in the development of new energy vehicles.
