In the experiment, distilled water is used as extraction reagent. The results show that, the extraction duration is 12h, Extraction time is 8h, the ratio of material to water is 1:26, is the best extraction conditions of the experiment. This essay also determines the composition of the volatile oil and its chemical properties are analyzed by GC-MS spectrometry. 62 peaks were isolated from the the volatile oil of artemisia anethifolia, and 31 compounds were identified, accounting for 50% of the ion peak. Their chemical constituents and relative contents were analyzed by GC- MS method. 62components were determined and 31compounds were identified in them,and they were 50. 0% ofthe total volatile oil.The main constituents are ?-pinene, 4, 4A, 5, 6, 7, 8-hexahydro-4, 4A-dimethyl-6 -( 1-methylethylidene) -( 4R-cis) -2( 3H) -naphthalenone, linalool oxide, ( E, E) -3, 7, 11,15- tetramethyl-1, 6, 10, 14-Hexadecatetraen-3-ol.
