The stylistic theories made by Shen Dan and Leech which will be a great help to study the stylitic features of the Great Gatsby. At abroad, Miller，James E. Jr. published a book named F. Scott Fitzgerald: His Art and His Technique(1998); Tate, Mary Jo. wrote a book: F. Scott Fitzgerald A to Z: the essential reference to his life and work(2003). At home, there are a number of published articles and books about the stylistic features of the Great Gatsby, such as Shen Dan wrote Narratology and the Stylistic of Fiction(2004); Li Xi published The Colour and The Symbolism(2002). All in all, The analysis of the stylistic features of the Great Gatsby and the exploration of the language used in the work will be of a great help for us to have a better understanding of this book and American history and society. 研究的基本内容，拟解决的主要问题 In order to find out how and why the Great Gatsby is so popular and influential, this thesis, based on the stylistic theories, tries to analyze stylistic features of the work from three aspects and reveals that it is its stylistic features that contribute to the triumph of the book. Fitzgerald is clearly a master of stylistic and technique devices. The Great Gatsby, which has literally become the spokesman of the “Jazz Age” and a must-read classic in the
