The Golden Fleece In ancient Greece ,there was a country called Podiya, and the kings wife was a fairy of clouds, named Nephele.They had two kids, the elder sister named Helle and the younger brother named Phrixus. One day, a siren went to the country, the king was attracted by the beauty of this woman. Thus, the king then abandoned Nephele and forced her to return to live in the clouds.The new empress was a cruel person, she always made dispute to the two kids of Nephele. Seeing her two kids being abused by the new empress, Nephele was very angry. she pray for Zeus to decline a disaster to this nation. However, to the surprise of Nephele, this siren said that the national disaster was the fault of prince Phrixus，only by sacrificing the prince to god could they dismiss a disaster. Luckily, this trick was found by Hermes. Out of justice, he sent Nephele a gold sheep to give relief to her children. Nephele let her two kids to ride on the sheep and fly as far as possible to seek refuge. The two kids flied for a long time in the sky and crossed many high mountains, river and ocean. Unfortunately, the elder sister falling to sea and die. Seeing his sister being swallowed by the ocean, the younger brother had nothing to do but to continue flying on the golden sheep . Finally, the younger brother arrived in a country called Kerrcas. The king welcomed and served the prince. Besides, he matched his daughter to Phrixus. What’s more, Phrixus sent the golden fleece to the king as a gift.The king sent it to Ares again. The gold wool not only symbolizes wealth, but also symbolizes a risky and unyielding will and symbolizes ideal and the pursue for happiness. Thank You
