Effective writing Lecture four Lecture 4 Develop a paragraph by reasons Analyze Writing error Learn to be specific Develop a paragraph by reasons A paragraph developed by reasons can be both informative and convincing. The following paragraph gives three reasons why television newscasts cannot be objective, and each reason in turn is more fully elaborated. As you read the paragraph, look for those three reasons. Develop a paragraph by reasons Media Bias The public expects the media to report only facts, not judgments. It is not possible, however , for television news to be completely objective. For the thing, some judgment is required even to determine what the facts are. Reporters who are not eyewitnesses must draw conclusions from eyewitness accounts about what happened. Moreover, deciding what is newsworthy requires judgment.
