Unit 9 Good Health Language abilities: Learn to talk about topics on health. Learn to ask and offer suggestions. Learn to express coditions about future actions. Language skills: Listening skills: listen to understand the languages on topics of health, conversations and texts of making and offering suggestions. Speaking skills: To be able to express orally topics on health, to make and offer suggestions orally. Reading skills: To be able to read dialouges and texts on health and suggestions. Writing skills: To be able to write out sentenses about health and suggustion, conditional sentences on future actions. Sentences to grasp: 1. Suggestions---should You should drink some orange juice. You shouldnt go out in the cold. Should we call the doctor? Yes, we should. Should he eat junk food? No, he shouldnt . What should I do? You should eat more vegetables. Where should she go? She should go to the gymnasium. How often should we go? You should go twice a week. 2. Suggestions---imperatives Wear warm clothes when it is cold. Dont try to do much exercise. Why dont you try walking instead of taking the bus? You could go to a swimming pool. It’s a good idea to choose an activity that you enjoy. It’s very important to go slowly at first. 3. Conditional sentences on future actions If you eat good food, you will stay healthy. If you dont do any exercise, you will put on weight. What will happen if I read on the bus? You will harm your eyesight. Cultural Sense: To learn the differences of eating habits between the east and the west. To learn what is health diet. To learn the diets, activities and daily habits that are good for health. To learn the different opinions on therapy between the east and the west.
