A Perfect Seeing-off Seeing off is the last step of the reception activity, but it decides the last impression on the tourists of the work of a guide. If properly arranged, a farewell can become the new beginning of friendship. Therefore, a guide should make careful preparation to seeing off guests. The following issues should be taken into consideration: First, a guide should confirm all relative departure information one or two days beforehand. He/She should help to have the flight tickets confirmed and get correct information in mind including departure time, flight/train number, concerned airline, departure airport or railway station, etc. Then, based on his/her previous experience, he/she should decide a proper time to leave the hotel for the airport of train station. Depending on the local traffic condition, extra time should be taken to avoid hastiness. Having settled the time, the guide should arrange the transportation to the airport or railway station. Second, the guide should give the tourists all necessary information as soon as things are finalized. He/She should let the tourists know the leaving time, luggage quota, custom declaration requirements, and so forth. If the tourists are in a big group, it is suggested to arrange an early luggage pick-up or group check-out in order to save time. The guide should remind the guests to settle their personal account beforehand. Third, on the way to the airport or railway station, the guide still has to keep on giving related information. Having arrived, the guide should give clear guidance on the check-in procedure and the customs declaration procedure. If possible, a guide should provide necessary assistance for check-in area, he/she should advise the tourists on how to get help from the airport staff.
