Recently, it is reported that dye spray technique is also useful for the early detection of the dysplastic lesions in the long standing ulcerative colitis. * Video endoscopes use white light from a xenon source for illumination. The reflected light is captured by a charge-couple device (CCD) chip. The reflectance spectrum differs from the emission spectrum of the light source. During live observation, the spectral composition is influenced by the structure of the tissue and the blood flow. The depth of penetration depends on the wave length used- superficial for blue band, deep for the red band and intermediate for the green band. In the RGB sequential imaging system, a rotating interference is interposed after the emission of white light spectrum in the incidence light.
