1. Theoretical basis According to Uso-Juan, reading is now seen as an interactive, constructive and contextualized process through which individuals make meaning, that implies linguistic, psychological and social-cultural factors play a key role in the process of reading, therefore, teacher should focus on the process of the reading, developing students’ reading strategies, and creating activities for them to use what they have learnt from the reading into real communication. 2. Analysis of learning material The teaching material is the reading part from unit 2 Healthy Eating Book3 in the senior high school. It aims at strengthening people’s awareness of having a healthy diet through a story of the restaurant competition between Wang Peng and Yong Hui. It tells the decreasing customers in Wang Peng’s restaurant in Paragraph 1, Wang Peng tried to find the answer in paragraph 2, the situation in Yong Hui’s restaurant in Paragraph 3, Wang Peng searched the Internet to find the problems existing in their restaurants’ menus in paragraph4, and Wang Peng started another round competition with his new designed menu which is both healthy and energy-giving in the last paragraph. 3. Analysis of learning condition Senior grade 2 students have acquired certain language competence because they have learned certain amount of English vocabulary and grammar. According to their psychological development, in this stage, they are eager to express themselves in the classrooms and usually ignore the team-work. What’s more, lack of some reading skill such as skimming and scanning will cause some problems for them. So the activities designed for them should stress on the teamwork and reading skills. 4. Analysis of learning condition Teaching Objectives Skill: By the end of this lesson.
