Topics: Unit 1 Fighting with the Forces of Nature
Text A The Icy Defender
Objectives:
1. understand the main idea and structure of the text;
2. learn cultural knowledge about the two important fights;
3. grasp the key language points and grammatical structures in the text;
Teaching Methods:
Teacher will use film to assist teaching;
Students will try to understand the text by themselves.

3.Comprehension: (Self-study+check);
Divide Students into small groups of 4-6 students, ask each group to study the text carefully and then prepare to explain the two fights with the maps that the students can get on the web.
