However, Hitler still refuses to surrender, so the Allies make a final push to defeat the Nazis.This is where film Fury is set. Starring American actor Brad Pitt, the movie came out in China on Nov 21.The focus of this story is a tank called Fury, led by Sergeant Don Collier (Pitt) and his crew (战友). They have fought tooth and nail (竭尽全力，拼命) from North Africa to Normandy, and now they find themselves facing Hitler’s last stand.As the film opens, a young clerk, typist Norman Ellison – who enlisted (入伍) only a few weeks earlier – is ordered to join Collier to replace a dead gunner (炮手). “I am trained to type 60 words a minute, not trained to machine gun (用机枪扫射) dead bodies,” he complains, before he manages to complete his first assignment: cleaning up body parts from the inside of the tank.“He starts off as a soft, kind little kid with not a sliver of bloodlust (丝毫不想参与杀戮) in his heart but that isn’t going to last for long … within just 10-15 minutes he goes from ‘I can’t kill anyone’ to ‘best job ever’,” said The Independent newspaper. As his nickname suggests, Collier is “a kind of damaged father figure, tough and tender (柔和的) in equal measure,” commented The Washington Post.Collier knows the price of keeping his men alive throughout the war, and is willing to pay it.
