Unit 6 Feels Like Spring I stop at the corner drugstore （杂货店）for a breakfast of doughnuts （炸面圈）and coffee, and then I race（飞快跑） to the subway（地铁） station and gallop（跑向） down the steps to catch my usual train. I hold on to the strap （皮带）and make believe（假装） Im reading my newspaper, but I keep glancing at（扫视） the people crowded （拥挤）in round me. She usually gets into the train at that station. She slips （滑移）in gracefully（优雅）, not pushing（推） or shoving （挤）like the rest, and she squeezes（挤压） into a little space, clinging to the people and holding on to an office envelope that probably contains her lunch. The Jersey crowd gets in at stop. She has a sweet face with that scrubbed （白净）look that doesnt need powder （粉）or rouge（胭脂）. She never wears make-up（化妆） except for lipstick（口红）. And her wavy（波浪形） hair is natural, just a nice light brown.
