* I HOPE THESE HELP TO ILLUSTRATE THE IMPORTANT OF CROSS DOMAIN TECHNOLOGIES USAGE TO SOLVE ENGINEERING PROBLEM AS WELL AS TO GROW NEW VALUES IN ENGINEERING. TO ME, I FIND THE PLATFORM CONCEPT IS MORE OF AN ENGINEERING TOOLBOX IN SUPPORT OF AN ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. WE EMPOWER THE ENGINEER TO THINK OUTSIDE OF BOX AND WITH NEW SKILL SET TO DERIVE NEW SOLUTION. LET US LOOK AT SOME EXAMPLE OF POTENTIAL NEW APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT THAT ENGINEERS CAN DELIVER. * THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECT TO INNOVATE THE SHIP VESSEL CONSTRUCTION THROUGH VESSEL COMPARTMENT BLOCK AS AN OBJECT; WITH INTEGRATED VESSEL DESIGN AND ANALYSIS METHODOLOGIES SUCH AS DDAM (DYNAMICS DESIGN ANALYSIS METHOD), BUILD-IN HYDRODYNAMICS SOLVER, LOAD MAPPING, BALANCING ETC. THERE ARE A LOT OF NEW IDEAS INTRODUCED IN THIS DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECT, AND IT WAS A TRULY ENGINEERING APPLICATION DESIGNED BY ENGINEER FOR ENGINEER. THE STARTING POINT OF THE APPLICATION IS FINITE ELEMENT MODEL INSTEAD OF GEOMETRICAL MODEL; AND ALL INFORMATION FLOW WITHIN THE NETWORK IS BASED ON ENGINEERING OBJECT THAT IS BEEN CAREFULLY DESIGNED FOR. * THE PLATFORM GRAPHICAL SYSTEM HAS GRAPHICS DRIVER TO SUPPORT WINDOW CE. SO WITH OUR EFFICIENT GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION MODEL, THE APPLICATION CAN BE DEVELOPED FOR PALM TOP ENVIRONMENT. * AS MENTIONED BEFORE, THE ENGINEERING OBJECTS WAS EMBEDDED WITH STRUCTURAL DESIGN HANDBOOK, WORKSHOP PRACTICE AND APPLICATION INFORMATION. WHAT BENEFIT WILL THIS BRING TO THE ENGINEERING DOMAIN APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT ? 1ST THE ENGINEERING OBJECTS HAS BUILD-IN ATTACHMENT RULES, SO IT CAN BE USED TO CONTROL HOW THE PARTS CAN BE CONNECTED AND ADJUSTMENT TO JOINT DEFINITION AUTOMATICALLY. 2ND THE FINITE ELEMENT IDEALIZATION IS DEFINED IN PARTS, SO THE FINITE ELEMENT MODEL CREATION IS AUTOMATED IN PARTS TO ASSEMBLY LEVEL. * 3RD THE PLATFORM HAS BUILD-IN RULE TO ABSTRACT THE FINITE ELEMENT RESULTS TO DERIVE LOAD PATH INFORMATION; SO THE FAILURE MODES OF PARTS CAN BE COMPUTED WITH COMPARIS
