英语精读课教学的动态整合模式—有指导的应用 介绍一套实践证明行之有效的教学方法 (以上海外语教育出版社出版的《大学英语》College English第一册为例) 丁衡祁 对外经济贸易大学 卓越国际学院教授 I.英语精读课的教学路子:动态整合模式 (the dynamic integrated approach) – 有指导的阅读、口语、写作和翻译(guided reading, speaking, writing and translation) 1、英语精读课的任务:通过系统的训练,培养学生的综合运用能力,包括比较深入的阅读理解能力和相对连贯的口笔头表达能力,要求做到基本准确、比较地道和流畅。 精读课的特点: 精读课的“精”字包含以下几个方面的意思: 精益求精、精耕细作; 精讲多练、精雕细琢; 精心设计,精心施工— 分阶段、分步骤的教学路子 讲解句子的步骤 从精读的角度来看,讲课的任务是十分艰巨的,要做的事情很多。就拿一个句子的学习来说,至少有以下八个方面的工作要做: 第一步、让学生抄写句子 第二步、让学生朗读句子 第三步、对句子中某些成分进行替换 第四步、图示语法结构 第五步、进行复述 第六步、进行提问 第七步、引导“拆分与组装”句子 第八步、进行英汉和汉英翻译 下面我们以第7课(第118页)中的一个比较复杂的句子为例: All the time it was quite evident that he sincerely believed that he might eventually buy one of these puddings and I am positive that he did not for a moment feel that he was in any way deceiving the store. 我们可以按照下面几个步骤来对它进行处理: 首先,在黑板上用图示法展示出句子的框架结构: All the time it was quite evident that he sincerely believed that he might eventually buy one of these puddings and I am positive that he did not for a moment feel that he was in any way deceiving the store. 这里一共有4 个That 从句,第二个和第四个都是宾语从句, 第一个是代替先行词 it (形式主语)的实际主语;第三个是表语 positive 的补足语。 然后再做重述(paraphrasing): Every time he visited the store, it was quite clear that he came for some puddings. He was quite sure that he would buy one of the puddings after tasting them. And I was sure that he would never try to cheat the store. 下一步再做拆分与合并(sentence splitting and combining): 先拆成若干个短句: Things were quite clear all the time. He came to the store for some puddings. Every time he would sample the puddings first. He sincerely believed his intention. He would buy one of the puddings after sampling them. I was sure of his good intention. He wouldn’t try to deceive the store. 然后再还原成长句: All the time it was quite evident that he sincerely believed that he might eventually buy one of these puddings and I am positive that he did not for a moment feel that he was in any way deceiving the store. 还要做替换练习: All the
