Reagents— Saturated sodium bicarbonate solution — Mix about 20 g of sodium bicarbonate and 100 mL of water, and allow any undissolved crystals to settle. Use the clear supernatant. Displacement solution— Dissolve 100 g of sodium chloride in 350 mL of water, add about 1 g of sodium bicarbonate and 1 mL of methyl orange TS.
