Explain to the students although there are many common verbs in English which have the regular past simple form. Tell them this means they will have to learn them individually. It took me ten hours to get to Los Angeles last Sunday. Step 4 Pre-listening Ask the students to listen to the recording and follow the route in their books. They can check with a partner.
