甲秀楼英文导游词 Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to jiaxiu pavilion .I am your tour guide of this visit. Now please follow me, I will tell you something about Jiaxiu pavilion .Jiaxiu pavilion located in the southern city of Guiyang Nanming River, which is the citys emblem and the logo. It was built in Ming Dynasty and has been more than 400 years of history. The name of “Jiaxiu” not only point out the beautiful landscape of Guiyang, but also encourage people to study hard. So Jiaxiu also means kejiajingxiu in Chinese. Actually, Guiyang really appeared many famous people after that , such as the poet Zhou Qiwei,the politician Li Duanfen, and the scholar Zhao Yijiong and so on. The first person who advocated to build Jiaxiu pavilion at that time was Guizhou Provincial Governor Jiang Dongzhi. Jiaxiu pavilion was based on a huge stone. Building a bridge link the two sides in order to cultivate Fengshui, which is named Jia Xiulou in Chinese. What we are seeing now is a stone arches gate, which is named ChengNanshengji and there are eight bend lions under the gate. At the foot of us is FuYuqiao, its not straight but ups and downs, like a jade belt floating in the water,so we call it Floating Jade Bridge. In the national scenic bridge, Floating Jade Bridge is famous for its jade, it can be compared with Hangzhou LiuQiaoFengYu, Slender West Lake of Yangzhou bridge. Besides it there is a small pavilion built on the bridge which is called Hanbi pavilion. A poet describe this in one of his couplets like this , Water flows through the jade rings and people walks through the green lotus petals.
