The first row of the figure shows the pivotal operating indexes of the power system, including voltage values of the pilot buses, power flow along the key branches, real time reserves of active power, frequency, the boundary of security region, etc. Once the state variables become abnormal, e.g., the voltage value of a pilot bus crosses over its limit, the corresponding index will blink informing the abnormality. Meanwhile, the event analysis module will decide what type of events has occurred, and the event handling module will figure the right operating orders out in an instant to eliminate the occurred event. The events and the operating orders are displayed in the table located in the second row of Fig.3. The orders will be transmitted from the front end system (FES) to the control devices installed in generator stations and substations.
