I.Background information:
Students: 40 students of Grade 7
Teaching material: section A(1a-1c) of Unit 7 in JEFC.
Teaching period: 45 minutes of new course.
Lesson type: conversational language course.
II.Teaching contents:
Description of the weather.
The present progressive tense.
III.Teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:
The students can understand the contents of the lesson.
The students can use the new words and structures to describe the weather and what they are doing.
Ability aims:
The students can ask questions and talk about the weather in English.
The students can develop the abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing.
Emotion aims:
The students can care about others around them.
The students can ask and answer questions bravely.
The students can try to build a good relationship with others.
IV.Teaching focus and difficult points:
Teaching focus:
Vocabulary: rain,rainy,raining,windy,cloudy,sunny,snow,snowy,snowing,weather.
Structures:
——How’s the weather?/What’s the weather like?
——It’s sunny/rainy/snowing
Teaching difficult points:
How to guide students to get information they need from the listening materials.
How to get students to talk about the weather.
V.Teaching methods:

Teacher shows some pictures to students,asks and answers the following questions: (2 minutes)

Ss:They are ...
(Purpose: to get students recollect what they learned in the last Unit.)
Teacher plays a video by PPT and ask the following questions:(2 minutes)
