The popularization of mass media means that the age of mass communication is coming. It provides different social stratum with the chance to share mass media information, thus information can flow fluently among them .The equal acquisition of information is the basic premise for each citizen to make wise decision for public policies .And it is also one of social democratic guarantees. Most importantly, it is the essential term for building an equal society .But in fact, gaps exist among different social stratum when they acquire mass media information. This phenomenon is termed as “Knowledge Gaps” .It is not so far a problem in mass communication .It is a social problem .The most influential factors in resulting in knowledge gaps is social stratification .With the aim of finding the ways to solve the problem of “Knowledge Gaps” ,this paper analyze this phenomenon from the aspect of macro-lengthwise social structure and explain it based on the fact of China today’s social stratificat
