Teaching Plan for Module6 (Book4) Unexplained Mysteries of the Natural World Reading and vocabulary 2012-5-19 Learning aims: 1. Knowledge aim: Besides learning about the passage, the students are expected to master some new words , phrases and language points. 2. Ability aim: Through the study of this lesson, the students are supposed to get trained and improved in their reading as well as listening, speaking and writing abilities through various class activities. 3. Emotional aim: Let the students learn about nature and love nature and arouse the students interest in exploring the secret of nature.. Important and difficult points 1. Important points: 1. To develop the students’ reading good habits and help improve their reading ability including the ability to grasp the main idea of each paragraph. 2. To guide the students to write a short passage using what they have learnt. 2. Difficult points: How to create a bridge between reading and ability. Teaching methods: 1) Basic reading methods, such as general reading, intensive reading, listening, writing and so on. 2). Individual work, pair work and group work . Teaching procedures Step1. Lead-in ( competitive work) 1. Show the students several pictures related to unexplained mysteries of the natural world. 2. Strengthen the words in this module to make sure the students can pronounce the words correctly and master the Chinese meaning and are prepared for the reading activities . Words are divided into two levels.
