Analysis of the text About the topic This unit computers is the third unit of Student’s Book 2. In this learning stage, students are able to use English to focus on more difficult topics as well as some daily topics. Articles on technology always are the difficult topics for students. In this field, computers will be an interesting one for them to use lots of their own experiences. Besides that, some new words and phrases on technology will be needed. Vocabulary will be an important part of this topic. About the periods My lesson is the first period of the whole unit covering Warning up, pre-reading, reading and comprehending of the textbook. For this reading passage WHO AM I, which is about the history and development of computers, 2 periods are needed. The next period will deal with the language points of the reading passage. Analysis of the text About the focus Before that, my lesson focuses on the comprehension of the passage and some related topics based on students’ understanding of computers. This will lead the students into the technological world and let them make preparation for the next reading passage about androids and writing about relationship between men and computers. About the difficulty To understand the passage itself is not difficult for students. The difficulty will be how to figure out the significance of computers to the human society and the best way to use computers.
